Fresno, CA. March 1, 2021: Valley Health Team and Westside Produce, in collaboration with California Health Sciences University, and Fresno County will provide 560 COVID-19 vaccines to agriculture workers, in Firebaugh, CA.
Farmworkers from Marv Coit, Legacy Farm Management, Giacone Ranch, Elrod Farming, Ramirez Agriculture, and Red Rooster Farms will be in attendance to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“Agriculture workers are the backbone of our community and it is our goal to ensure that they are vaccinated and protected from COVID-19,” said Soyla A. Reyna-Griffin, Chief Executive Officer of Valley Health Team. “Valley Health Team is deeply embedded within the Ag worker community and we will continue to provide vaccinations, education, and post-vaccination care to all of our service areas.”
Valley Health Team and its partners will return to the site on March 29, 2021, to administer the second dose of vaccines to agriculture workers.
Fresno County is expected to receive 32,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses during the coming week, the largest shipment to date.
