Available COVID-19 Vaccines:
Currently there are four COVID-19 vaccines available in the United States: Pfizer-BioNtech, Moderna, Novavax and Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine.
Valley Health Team encourages every eligible person to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, including the booster dose. By getting vaccinated, you are not only protecting yourself, but your family, friends, and neighbors. By working together, we can help move past this pandemic and towards a brighter future.
The updated (bivalent) boosters are called “bivalent” because they protect against both the original virus that causes COVID-19 and the Omicron variant BA.4 and BA.5.
Any Californian aged 6 months and older can get vaccinated for free. For more information on who can receive the COVID-19 vaccine, visit the CDC’s website.
Stay Up to Date With Vaccinations
CDC recommends COVID-19 vaccines for everyone 6 months and older and updated boosters for everyone 5 years and older, if eligible. Some people in your family might need even more protection from COVID-19, including anyone not up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines and people with weakened immune systems or underlying medical conditions.
